Leaders in Business, Education and the Public Sector Supporting MCR Pathways National Expansion
Since our early days at St Andrews, MCR has been a partnership project. Everything is built on relationships – with schools, mentors, local authorities and – most importantly – relationships with our young people. As we embark on further expansion, we’ve created a new National Advisory Group to help us bring mentoring to young people across the country. The Group includes some of Scotland’s most experienced figures in business, the public sector, education and the third sector.
By forming a collective of experienced and passionate stakeholders from across Scotland, we hope to harness their expertise to bring our pioneering mentoring and talent development programme to young people from all corners of the country.
MCR Pathways currently operates in all Glasgow secondary schools as well as schools in Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire. Over each of the last 3 years, MCR Pathways has doubled the number of young people it supports weekly and aims to be fully operational across at least 15 Local Authorities throughout Scotland in the next 3 years.
The National Advisory Group will support us to deliver our vision that every care-experienced and disadvantaged young person in Scotland, can enjoy the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person.
The Advisory Group will support the MCR Pathways’ national expansion and help fully embed the MCR model within the Scottish education system. To help reach our goals, The Group which consists of:
