Inspiring and Supporting our Team to Provide the Best Opportunities for Scotland’s Young People
We rely on committed partners to help us develop and support our programme and reach more young people to fulfil their potential. Our Partners include organisations of all sizes, from local businesses to national corporations. Support also comes from local authorities, including Glasgow City Council and its ALEOs.
Our partners encourage and support their staff to mentor. They also open their doors by hosting our young people on Talent Tasters – half day work experience sessions – that allow them to explore businesses and different roles.
Organisations such as Glasgow City Council and the University of Strathclyde Business School have committed signing up 10% and 20%, respectively, of their staff to mentor.
We have also partnered with the University of Strathclyde Business School to create a revolutionary course based on MCR relationship based mentoring. The Leadership Through MCR Mentoring award builds exceptional leadership skills and is accredited at SCQF Level 7.
I’m really proud that Wheatley do so much to support YGT and young people throughout Glasgow.
Research has shown that the best leaders are those leaders who can empathise with people. The best way that you can really learn to empathise with people is to work with others... in a very non-judgemental way.
Children are all gifts. It’s so nice to see that you’re opening another door for them.
